I forgot I had this blog...

Well not really but it has been a while.  I haven't been doing much craft wise for the last few months yet somehow managed to pick up a couple new obsessions.  I guess it's true that ideal hands find mischief.  I'll focus on one of new obsession for the time being....DOLLS.  Although I've always had some sort of doll collection I can totally blame a friend of mine for sending me down this path.  She recently started making adorable clothe dolls and since I had dabbled in making clothe dolls years ago we had lots to talk about and then the surfing for patterns and what not began.  In my "research" I saw a big head wide eyed doll online and feel in love all over again.  I had discovered these dolls before but thought I couldn't/shouldn't indulge.  This time my practicality didn't win (which is sadly the norm) and I ordered my first Blythe doll.

End of story right?.... Not exactly, I tend to go full speed and head first into my addictions and with a few more clicks of my mouse I discovered Blythe customizations, black Blythes (from what I can find the manufacture does not make black Blythes so all BB are custom), Blythe clothes, eye chips, mohair and so many other ways to jump off the deep end.
From MyDeliciousBliss.com

My second idea was to make my doll more pose-able by doing a body swap...but then I'd have an extra body...so I ordered a Blythe head (crazy right?)  But the head was sans a scalp and hair (so I had to get those).  And as I spiraled down this path of creating my Frankenblythe I thought I'll make one black since at the end of all this I'll hopefully have two complete dolls.

I know it's confusing, but stick around and maybe we can sort all this out together.  Oh, and I forgot to mention I'll also be making clothes for my Bs.  More posts to come as I patiently await the rest of my packages :-) TTYS
