A new post is long overdue. I hope you all had an awesome holiday season and a wonderful start to your New Year!!
I have nothing to show you right now since I'm at my desk at work, gotta work to pay for my hobbies, but I have a few teasers of post to come. First let me tell you I got a Cricut Expression and a Gypsy for Christmas. Awesomeness!! There will most definitely be a post on my these two items and the projects I've made.
Then there's the furniture I got, also a gift, for the Newport. More to come on this. And finally, I have "someone" to introduce. That's all I'm saying for now.
I could actually just do one large update post and be done with everything that's happened since my break. But then what would I write about next? Blog content comes slow around here. I spend more time a desk here at work than I do a desk at home but C'est la vie! Right? I'll be back tomorrow with one of the post I've eluded to. Any preferences on which goes first?
Thanks for sticking around.

Slow Progress - New Projects
Well, I haven't accomplished much on the miniature front this week, or any other front for that matter. That's my excuse for the lack of pictures.
Quick update: Interior design has begun on the Newport. This weekend I pulled out a trunk of old furniture to see what I could salvage. The furniture wasn't quality items to begin with and I hadn't taken very good care of them so there wasn't much. I was able to pull a few pieces out of the rubble and I'll find a home for them soon enough. Here's a table I rescued and a picture of how bright my chandelier is.
In all, I did a whole lot of nothing.

I also found my mini sewing machine that I thought was lost, a bucket of spilled paint, some cats and a dog, and a hutch to repair. For the most part I'll be furnishing this house from scratch. Let the shopping begin.
If you noticed, in the photo I have yet to pick out wallpaper. The kit came with a package but I may use those for another house I'm planning, more on that in a moment. I have a large supply of scrapbook paper that I sorted through and found a few designs small enough to use. The problem is that I don't have enough sheets of any single design. So I'll either have to be creative or go pick up extra sheets, hoping that these designs are still stocked. If you have any tips on wallpapering dollhouses please share. I can always use extra insight and it may save me a few hours researching every little detail on my own.
After all that, I hit designer's block and couldn't make any decisions on the Newport. So I pulled out the Lily. This house was a gift to my mother a few years back. It sat for a long while before she "commissioned" someone to build it for her. Well, that was a waste of time. When we finally got it back (over a year later) nothing had been accomplished. I spent Sunday sorting and organizing the kit, since he managed to punch out a good portion of pieces, and taking inventory. I discovered that 7 pieces had been lost. Ughhhh!! I'll have to order replacements for those.
